Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it. Fortunately, this did not happen to me. (I’m not sure it could entirely happen to anyone!) I’ve never been much of a fisherman. When I was young, I caught a little sunfish at my great uncle’s place on the St. Joseph River in Michigan. He showed me how to clean it, and my great aunt fried it up for me. But aside from that, I’ve only ever caught other people’s lost tackle.

I do have some mountain experience, though. I lived in Sacramento for a few years when I was in the Boy Scouts, and went on numerous camp-outs and hikes in the Sierra Nevada and coastal mountains. Some of the description stems from those experiences.
