I’m a bit confused. (They keep waking me up here in the hospital. Apparently, sleep isn’t good for recuperation.) I’m not clear on whether you want to cut out showers or use them to avoid writing.
The former can lead to some socially awkward situations, although it’s probably sustainable, since writing is such a solitary occupation. But if you’re writing, you’re not reading Orange Whitney, which is an issue for me.
As to the latter, it would certainly help you engage in the writers’ time-honored occupation of not writing, but how can you read Orange Whitney in the shower? Neither paper nor electronics hold up well in a deluge.
Either way, it’s best to skip the whole idea. Just read Orange Whitney. Then you can safely go out in public and not write. Problem solved. My problem, anyway. . .
